How To Schedule A Free Donation Pickup Online
No car or time to drop donations off yourself? Schedule a free pickup.
DAV is a non-government-funded charity that provides support for disabled American veterans.
They offer free donation pickup services in several locations throughout California and Texas. Other locations may be serviced.
It’s a fast and convenient option for those who want to clean out their homes but don’t have a car or time to do so.
Fill out the request form.
Access the online scheduling form here.
Provide a valid email address and phone number. The DAV will call you the day before your scheduled pickup to confirm your request.
Enter your pickup address.
Next, provide a valid pickup address in California. Not all cities will be serviced but you can check if they do.
If your area is serviced, you will be prompted to check off a list of donation items.
They accept gently used clothing and various household items or small electronics.
NOT ALLOWED: Large furniture or appliances, encyclopedias, magazines, newspapers, car seats, cribs, or mattresses/box springs.

Select a pickup date.
Let the driver know where your items will be located and select your ideal date. You do not have to be home for them to pick up your donations.
The driver will arrive
between 8 am - 5 pm.

Prepare your donations and mark them.
Mark your boxes or bags with the word “DAV” so the driver knows where your donations are going.
This pickup service is used for several other charities so you will want to ensure these are going to the right place.
Once they pick up your donations, you will receive a corresponding tax deduction form for your taxes. :-) Calculate the value of your donations, and you’re done!
